It's a great pumpkin Charlie Brown! card

   Hello crafty friends!

Back again with another card creation!

Today's card is based on one of my favorite all time books to highlight the fall season. Nothing says fall like this book called "It's a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"by Charles M. Shultz. I have always been a fan of the "Peanuts". My favorite character is Snoopy. His spirit is so free and adventurous. I usually make cards that are interactive but this time around I wanted to try something more detailed and intricate.

The design for the card was not hard to come up with but cutting out the pieces with my die cut machine and adhering them to the card base was time consuming but fun and relaxing. Not many materials were used in this project. Just some colored card stock and glue. I used some scrap cardstock from my stash which helped bring the card together.

I inserted a picture of the book and the card I created based on the book. Thank you to The cutest blog on the block for this weeks alphabet letter "L" card challenge and polkadoodle for allowing my creativity to flourish.

Have a look at the pictures below and let me know what you think.

Housewarming card

 Hello crafty friends!

I love card challenges!! over at the polkadoodle.blogspot  So, I came up with a refrigerator!! The idea behind this card was that it could be a "housewarming"card with a gift card to the grocery store. What is a refrigerator without food right? Well, I filled it with all kinds of goodies. A cake, martini, wine and all the essentials to start off on the right foot. Some of the food can be removed for fun!

The best part of the card in my opinion is the front of the card. Who do you know that does not have their refrigerator covered with cute & memorable things? Well, this card has all sorts of things. On top of the refrigerator you will see a plant and a teapot.

I try to switch up the kinds of materials I use to make cards but my favorite way is to use die cuts either with my Cricut or a manual die cutting machine. Sometimes I color in my die cuts but pre-colored is better. There is a mix of fussy cutting & die cutting in this project.

I find it very enjoyable doing these challenges. It is a good way to calm down from a busy day and to relax. I hope you enjoy the card. Leave a comment below. I would love read what you think. :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Jungle animal birthday card ( Alphabet challenge letter "J")

Hey there!!

Here is another card I made!!

I am so loving the alphabet card challenge!!

Over on https://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.com the letter for this challenge is Letter “J” for jungle animals. Making cards this way is so much fun! Not only does it give me a theme but also allows me to be creative and use up materials in my stash. I used layers of cardstock for dimension and weight, vinyl  scrap for the "Happy Birthday" sign and jute string to finish it off.

I decided to go with a trifold pop up card this time! This design was inspired by an individual who posted a similar card. I tweaked it a little bit to fit the design I was going for and I must say it turned out pretty cute!! It was a bit of a challenge considering I have never made a card like this before. But I did it!! :)

I thought since my grandson's birthday is coming up in September this would be the perfect time to make him a card that he can keep. One day he can look back and say "My MeMa made this for me."!

This is not one of those cards where you could make in bulk. At least not for me. This card took a while to make but it is good to make for a special person. :)

I am getting excited for the next alphabet challenge. This is going to be fun!! :)

The Monkey and The Ice cream truck!

Hello crafty friends!

Today I have decided to make a card with a friendly monkey looking for a yummy treat.

The story behind the idea:

The giant ice cream cone on top of the truck grabbed his attention as the truck was leaving the zoo  to go to a birthday party. The monkey wanted a treat so the monkey escaped the zoo and followed the truck to the party not knowing that the ice cream cone on top of the truck was not real.

The making of the card:

The card is interactive (see video below) because I wanted to have the monkey moving while the truck was in motion. As the truck moves the monkey is attempting to catch the ice cream cone so he can eat it. The monkey is attached with a brad so that it can easily move with your fingers. The card has some dimension so that it pops of the card for a realistic look. I used different mediums to make this card. I used colored pencils, hand drawing and die-cutting.

I would say that this card is one of my favorites.

Butterfly Birthday card

Hello crafty friends!

Here is another card I made with various materials. for the challenge #26 on polkadoodle. I was inspired by the weather where I live when making this card. In the summer I like to see butterflies but there are not many around. I miss that.

So, instead I decided to make a card where I could see them when I wanted. :) I used stamps for the sentiments and the little mouse in the corner. He is so cute! The butterfly is a die cut from a card kit and the background are scraps from my stash.

Thank you for stoping by. I hope you enjoy the card! :)

This is the inside of the card. :)
